How did your career bring you to private equity?
After finishing my career as a professional rugby player, I joined Corbett Keeling, an M&A boutique specialising in advising founder led and private equity backed businesses on capital raising, acquisitions and divestments. I really enjoyed working with ambitious founders and management teams across a wide range of sectors. However, I found that as an advisor, you often step away just as the most exciting part begins: the post-transaction journey. I was drawn to private equity because it offers the opportunity to work alongside management teams over the long term, supporting them through growth and value creation rather than only advising at a single point in time.
What attracted you most to joining WestBridge?
I have always thrived in close-knit, team-oriented environments, and that was immediately evident at WestBridge. The team is an eclectic mix of highly driven, collaborative, and supportive individuals who are all aligned around achieving the best possible outcomes for our portfolio companies. WestBridge’s value creation model particularly appealed to me, as it encourages genuine partnership with management teams, working collaboratively, challenging constructively and ensuring everyone is aligned and pulling in the same direction.
What do you find most rewarding about your role at WestBridge?
What I find most rewarding is the opportunity to work closely with exceptional management teams across our portfolio and support them as they grow their businesses. I also really enjoy meeting and reviewing new businesses as we look to deploy capital from WestBridge III. Being involved in the full lifecycle, from evaluating opportunities to executing investments and then partnering with management teams on their growth journey, is something I find particularly motivating.
Share a great piece of advice you’ve received
One of the best pieces of advice I’ve received came from my Director of Rugby, Declan Kidney, who often used the phrase ‘find a way’. While simple, it had a lasting impact on me. It encouraged a positive, solutions-focused mindset – recognising that circumstances won’t always be ideal, but success comes from taking responsibility, adapting, and finding a way forward regardless. That mindset has stayed with me and continues to shape how I approach challenges and goals.
What does life look like when you leave the office?
Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and playing a wide variety of sports, something I wasn’t always able to do while playing rugby. I play cricket, golf and padel, and I try to ski whenever I get the chance. I also spend a lot of time running with our Rhodesian Ridgeback, who has far more stamina than I do, and keeping up with her remains a work in progress.
